The Nueva School Mavericks (San Mateo, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Cindy Avitia Jaguars (San Jose, CA), 52-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, The Nueva School upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Pacific Bay Christian (Pacifica, CA) to play the Eagles in a Private School - North bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 2-4. Pacific Bay Christian lost 46-29 in their recent non-league bout against Oceana (Pacifica, CA)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Cristo Rey Lions (San Jose, CA) in a Private School - South bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Cindy Avitia will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 11-1 record after their 55-15 league win over Luis Valdez Leadership Academy (San Jose, CA).
