The Essex Trojans basketball team (Essex, IA), dropped 47-34 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Diagonal Maroons (Diagonal, IA)
The Maroons now possess a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Twin Cedars for a Bluegrass battle on Tuesday, January 10. Diagonal will battle a Sabers team coming off a 38-16 non-league win over Tri-County (Thornburg, IA). The Sabers record now stands at 6-2.
The Trojans (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Fremont-Mills (Tabor, IA). The Knights come into the non-league battle with a 6-3 record. In their last battle, Fremont-Mills beat Red Oak (Red Oak, IA), 54-22, in a non-league outing.
