The Peoria Notre Dame Irish basketball team scored 34 points and held the host Elmwood Trojans to 31 in the Irish non-league triumph on Monday.
The Irish now sport a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Normal Community for a Big Twelve contest on Wednesday, January 11. Peoria Notre Dame will meet a Ironmen team coming off a 49-20 league win over Bloomington (Bloomington, IL). The Ironmen record now stands at 18-0.
The Trojans (17-4) will now prepare for their contest against Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL). The Tigers enter the Tomahawk contest with a 16-6 record. In their last contest, Illini Bluffs nudged Athens (Athens, IL), 36-27, in a league contest.
