Hopkins County Central Storm (Madisonville, KY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marshall County Marshals (Benton, KY), 54-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hopkins County Central upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Storm host Madisonville-North Hopkins (Madisonville, KY) to play the Maroons in a District 7 bout on Friday, January 13. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Madisonville-North Hopkins won 64-33 in their recent non-league bout against Calloway County (Murray, KY)

Next up, the Marshals play the McCracken County Mustangs (Paducah, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Marshall County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 10-2 record after their 68-48 non-league win over Massac County (Metropolis, IL).
