Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Illinois Lutheran Chargers (Crete, IL), 46-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Clifton Central upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Comets travel to Donovan (Donovan, IL) to clash with the Wildcats in a bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Donovan won 34-32 in their recent league bout against Grant Park (Grant Park, IL)

Next up, the Chargers clash with the Beecher Bobcats (Beecher, IL) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Illinois Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 40-15 league win over Grant Park (Grant Park, IL).
