Lancaster Red Devils (Lancaster, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 71-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lancaster upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Red Devils host Westmoreland (Montross, VA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Westmoreland won 43-38 in their recent non-league bout against Sussex Central (Sussex, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers (King & Queen Court House, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Mathews will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Royal Tigers go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 42-14 non-league loss to Carver College and Career Academy (Chester, VA).
