Dutchtown Griffins (Geismar, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Tara Trojans (Baton Rouge, LA), 59-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Dutchtown upgrades its record to 13-8 on the season. The Griffins travel to East Ascension (Gonzales, LA) to clash with the Spartans in a 5A District 5 bout on Friday, January 12. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 7-11.

Next up, the Trojans clash with the Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Tara will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 56-54 non-league win over Frederick A. Douglass (New Orleans, LA).
