Fairmont Firebirds (Kettering, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Oakwood Lumberjacks (Dayton, OH), 70-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Fairmont improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Firebirds travel to Northmont (Clayton, OH) to confront the Thunderbolts in a Greater Western Ohio challenge on Friday, January 12. The Thunderbolts come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Northmont won 58-47 in their recent league challenge against Springfield (Springfield, OH)

Next up, the Lumberjacks confront the Valley View Spartans (Germantown, OH) in a Southwestern Buckeye - Buckeye challenge, on Friday, January 12. Oakwood will attempt to improve on its 8-2 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 58-53 league loss to Brookville (Brookville, OH).
