Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars (Hinckley, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN), 81-69 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hinckley-Finlayson upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Jaguars travel to Mora (Mora, MN) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 11. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Mora lost 82-64 in their recent league bout against Legacy Christian Academy (Andover, MN)

Next up, the Mercuries clash with the Cook County Vikings (Grand Marais, MN) in a A Section 7 bout, on Friday, January 12. McGregor will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 92-72 non-league loss to Two Harbors (Two Harbors, MN).
