The Rising Star Wildcats basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Lometa Hornets to 15 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Eula for a 1A Region II District 13 contest on Friday, January 12. Rising Star will meet a Pirates team coming off a 65-22 non-league win over Bronte (Bronte, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 18-3.

The Hornets (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Rochelle (Rochelle, TX). The Hornets enter the 1A Region III District 17 contest with a 1-7 record. In their last contest, Rochelle was routed by Veribest (Veribest, TX), 65-35, in a non-league contest.
