The Mt. Baker Mountaineers basketball team (Deming, WA), was overwhelmed 72-29 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Lynden Lions (Lynden, WA)
The Lions now possess a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Blaine for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle on Thursday, January 11. Lynden will confront a Borderites team coming off a 72-48 league loss to Meridian (Bellingham, WA). The Borderites record now stands at 3-10.
The Mountaineers (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Squalicum (Bellingham, WA). The Storm come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle with a 5-8 record. In their last battle, Squalicum trounced Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA), 54-39, in a league battle.
