Orono Spartans (Long Lake, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Mound-Westonka White Hawks (Mound, MN), 79-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Orono upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Spartans host Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN) to clash with the Storm in a AAAA Section 2 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Storm go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Chanhassen lost 71-66 in their recent league bout against Shakopee (Shakopee, MN)

Next up, the White Hawks clash with the Southwest Christian Stars (Chaska, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Mound-Westonka will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Stars go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 65-50 league win over Providence Academy/Rivertree (Plymouth, MN).
