The Springfield Southeast Spartans basketball team (Springfield, IL), was nudged 65-58 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL)

The Pioneers now possess a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jacksonville for a Central State Eight battle on Friday, January 12. Normal University will confront a Crimsons team coming off a 66-50 league loss to Glenwood (Chatham, IL). The Crimsons record now stands at 9-8.

The Spartans (3-11) will now prepare for their battle against Evansville Central (Evansville, IN). The Bears come into the non-league battle with a 4-8 record. In their last battle, Evansville Central was nudged by Castle (Newburgh, IN), 91-70, in a league battle.
