Okolona Chieftains (Okolona, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS), 80-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Okolona upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Chieftains host Vardaman (Vardaman, MS) to play the Rams in a 1A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 12. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 6-10. Vardaman lost 65-52 in their recent league bout against Houlka (Houlka, MS)

Next up, the Seminoles play the Vardaman Rams (Vardaman, MS) in a 1A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Smithville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record.
