Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Herriman Mustangs (West Herriman, UT) and the host Layton Lancers (Layton, UT), saw Herriman's basketball squad overcome Layton by a tally of 55-40.

With the victory, Herriman improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Mountain Ridge (Herriman, UT) to confront the Sentinels in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Sentinels come into the challenge with a record of 10-3. Mountain Ridge won 50-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Skyridge (Lehi, UT)

Next up, the Lancers confront the Syracuse Titans (Syracuse, UT) in a 6A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 12. Layton will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 49-25 non-league win over Sky View (Smithfield, UT).
