Shaw Cardinals (East Cleveland, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Rhodes Rams (Cleveland, OH), 34-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Shaw upgrades its record to 2-8 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Maple Heights (Maple Heights, OH) to play the Mustangs in a Lake Erie - Erie bout on Saturday, January 13. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 4-3.

Next up, the Rams play the John Marshall Lawyers (Cleveland, OH) in a Cleveland Municipal Senate bout, on Friday, January 12. Rhodes will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Lawyers come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 35-30 non-league loss to Golden Gate (Naples, FL).
