In Thursday's league contest, the host Classical Purple basketball team scored a good 63-50 win over the East Providence Townies.

The Purple (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Eagles come into the Division I contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Barrington dropped by La Salle Academy (Providence, RI), 77-59, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Townies battle the Lincoln Lions (Lincoln, RI) in a Division I contest, on Monday, January 13. East Providence will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Lions come into the contest with a 7-3 record after their 69-57 league win over North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI).
