North Carolina High School Basketball - Epiphany can't hold off John Paul II Catholic

John Paul II Catholic Saints (Greenville, NC) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Epiphany Falcons (New Bern, NC), 44-40 in a league match.

With the victory, John Paul II Catholic advances its record to 7-4 on the year. The Saints travel to Liberty Christian Academy (Richlands, NC) to face the Heat in a non-league match on Monday, January 13. The Heat enter the match with a record of 9-3. Liberty Christian Academy lost 54-47 in their recent non-league match against Arendell Parrott Academy (Kinston, NC)

The Falcons now own a 4-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Carteret for a non-league match on Monday, January 13. Epiphany will face a Mariners squad coming off a 54-50 non-league win over Epiphany (New Bern, NC). The Mariners record now stands at 1-6.
