In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Austin Black Bears basketball team scored a big 61-34 triumph over the Columbia Eagles.
The Black Bears (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Mars Hill Bible (Florence, AL). The Panthers go into the non-league contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Mars Hill Bible smashed Scottsboro (Scottsboro, AL), 68-67, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Buckhorn Bucks (New Market, AL) in a 6A Area 16 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Columbia will attempt to better on its 1-21 season record.
