Florida High School Basketball - Mitchell holds off East Lake

The Mitchell Mustangs basketball team scored 34 points and limited the visiting East Lake Eagles to 28 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now have a 12-1 record. They play next when they travel to River Ridge for a non-league game on Friday, January 10. Mitchell will confront a Royal Knights team coming off a 42-38 non-league win over Cypress Creek (Wesley Chapel, FL). The Royal Knights record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, East Lake falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Countryside (Clearwater, FL) to confront the Cougars in a non-league game on Friday, January 10. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 5-5. Countryside lost 39-18 in their recent non-league game against Gibbs (St. Petersburg, FL)
