The Gardner Wildcats football team (Gardner, MA), was beaten 33-6 in Saturday's league challenge with the visiting Ayer Shirley Panthers (Ayer, MA)

The Panthers (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Quabbin Regional (Barre, MA). The Panthers come into the Midland Wachusett - E challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Quabbin Regional was beaten by Murdock (Winchendon, MA), 33-18, in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Lunenburg for a non-league challenge on Friday, October 7. Gardner will meet a Blue Knights team coming off a 44-8 league win over Littleton (Littleton, MA). The Blue Knights record now stands at 2-2.
