    The crowd at Saturday's league contest between the Stratford Spartans (Houston, TX) and the host Cypress Creek Cougars (Houston, TX), observed Stratford's football squad edge Cypress Creek by a count of 45-42.

    The Spartans now own a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Northbrook for a 6A Region III District 17 contest on Thursday, October 6. Stratford will play a Raiders squad coming off a 41-0 league loss to Memorial (Houston, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 1-4.

    Coming up next, the Cougars play the Cy-Fair Bobcats (Cypress, TX) in a 6A Region III District 17 contest, on Saturday, October 8. Cypress Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the contest with a 4-1 record after their 61-49 league win over Jersey Village (Houston, TX).
