In Saturday's non-league battle, the host George Washington Patriots soccer squad scored a close 7-1 win over the University Hawks.
The Patriots (14-1) will now prepare for their battle against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Spartans go into the Mountain State battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Greenbrier East nipped Princeton (Princeton, WV), 1-0, in a league battle.
The Hawks (5-10) will now prepare for their battle against Madonna (Weirton, WV). The Blue Dons go into the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Madonna was overwhelmed by Harrison Central (Cadiz, OH), 8-0, in a non-league battle.
