In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Leyden Eagles soccer squad scored a close 5-0 win over the Ridgewood Rebels.
The Eagles (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Proviso East (Maywood, IL). The Pirates go into the West Suburban - Gold battle with a 3-9 record. In their last battle, Proviso East was overwhelmed by Maine West (Des Plaines, IL), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
The Rebels (6-7) will now prepare for their battle against Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, IL). The Warriors go into the Metro Suburban battle with a 8-4 record. In their last battle, Wheaton Academy was overwhelmed by Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
