The Northview Wildcats topped the visiting Central Catholic Fighting Irish volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Wildcats now have a 14-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Napoleon for a Northern Lakes test on Tuesday, October 4. Northview will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Anthony Wayne (Whitehouse, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-13.
The Fighting Irish (2-13) will now prepare for their test against Bowling Green (Bowling Green, OH). The Bobcats enter the non-league test with a 7-8 record. In their last test, Bowling Green gained a win over Eastwood (Pemberville, OH), 3-1, in a non-league test.
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - In the non-conference match-up between Central Catholic and Northview, the Wildcats were able to take care of business in their 5th straight set victory in a row, winning 25-16, 25-13, 25-12 to move Northview to 14-3 overall, 9-1 in the NLL.
Leading for Northview was senior, Kam Hunt, with a team high 19 kills, hitting .571, while adding 6 digs. Junior, outside hitter, Hannah Davis, led the Wildcats with a team high 7 aces; and junior setter, Natalie Kerchevall, added 8 kills, hitting .353, and 16 assists. Senior outside hitter, Sydney Hires, added 5 kills, hitting .333 and junior setter, Hannah Schoen added 13 assists. Junior libero, Jordyn Pakulski led the defensive effort with 4 aces and a team high 9 digs while junior middle blocker, Claire Smith, added 3 blocks.
Northview returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to Napoleon to resume NLL play. Freshman start at 4:45 P.M. with JV and Varsity to follow.
