Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) and the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), saw Bernalillo's soccer squad hold off Belen by a count of 5-4.

The Spartans (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Chargers enter the 4A District 6 battle with a 10-2 record. In their last battle, Albuquerque Academy tipped Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM), 15-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Eagles battle the Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) in a 4A District 5 battle, on Thursday, October 3. Belen will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 2-9 record after their 4-0 league loss to Highland (Albuquerque, NM).
