Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA) and the visiting Coronado Islanders (Coronado, CA), observed Mater Dei Catholic's volleyball team hold off Coronado by a count of 2-1.
The Crusaders (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA). The Mustangs enter the contest with a 19-5 record. In their last contest, Otay Ranch was tipped by La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA), 1-0, in a non-league contest.
Next, the Islanders meet the University City Centurions (San Diego, CA) in a contest, on Wednesday, October 2. Coronado will attempt to move on its 16-6 season record.
