In Tuesday's non-league test, the Halfway Cardinals (Halfway, MO) softball squad overwhelmed the host Hermitage Hornets (Hermitage, MO), by a tally of 16-7.

Next, the Cardinals meet the Dadeville Bearcats (Dadeville, MO) in a Class 1 District 3 test, on Thursday, October 3. Halfway will attempt to advance on its 15-5 season record. The Bearcats go into the test with a 5-9 record after their 8-7 non-league loss to Weaubleau (Weaubleau, MO).

The Hornets (4-14) will now prepare for their test against Crocker (Crocker, MO). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 9-12 record. In their last test, Crocker was routed by Osage (Kaiser, MO), 18-3, in a non-league test.
