In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Newton Eagles volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Vandalia Vandals.

The Eagles (18-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Robinson (Robinson, IL). The Maroons enter the Little Illini challenge with a 10-6 record. In their last challenge, Robinson beat Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Vandals meet the Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Thursday, October 3. Vandalia will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Wesclin (Trenton, IL).
