South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their volleyball team overcome the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (13-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots come into the non-league challenge with a 2-14 record. In their last challenge, Freedom was beaten by St. Stephens (Hickory, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Red Devils meet the West Iredell Warriors (Statesville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, October 2. Newton-Conover will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record.
