Texas High School Football - Banquete thwarted by Taft

Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Banquete Bulldogs (Banquete, TX), 13-2 in a league battle.

With the win, Taft advances its record to 3-4 on the season. The Greyhounds host Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, TX) to play the Warriors in a 3A-2 Region IV District 16 battle on Friday, October 18. The Warriors go into the battle with a record of 6-0. Santa Rosa won 24-0 in their recent league battle against Hebbronville (Hebbronville, TX)

The Bulldogs now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to George West for a 3A-2 Region IV District 16 battle on Friday, October 18. Banquete will play a Longhorns team coming off a 46-23 league win over Odem (Odem, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 4-2.
