The Calhoun Sandcrabs football squad scored 30 points and limited the visiting La Vernia Bears to 14 in the Sandcrabs league triumph on Thursday.

The Sandcrabs (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Jones (Beeville, TX). The Trojans come into the match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Jones was beaten by El Campo (El Campo, TX), 34-6, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Bears confront the Churchill Chargers (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league match, on Thursday, October 17. La Vernia will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Chargers come into the match with a 3-5 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Brandeis (San Antonio, TX).
