Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), 5-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Portsmouth moves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Patriots host East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI) to clash with the Avengers in a Division 1 test on Monday, October 14. The Avengers come into the test with a record of 5-5. East Greenwich lost 2-1 in their recent league test against Cranston West (Cranston, RI)

The Sentinels now sport a 1-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Salle Academy for a Division 1 test on Saturday, October 19.
