In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Roanoke Catholic Celtics volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the New Covenant Gryphons .

The Celtics (11-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA). The Flames enter the challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Eastern Mennonite was tipped by Grove Christian School (Richmond, VA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Gryphons meet the Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots (Lynchburg, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 11. New Covenant will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to CSTHEA (Chattanooga, TN).
