New London Whalers (New London, CT) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT), 7-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, New London advances its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Whalers host Stonington (Stonington, CT) to clash with the Bears in a non-league test on Wednesday, October 16. The Bears come into the test with a record of 7-5.

The Panthers now have a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Portland for a non-league test on Saturday, October 12. Plainfield will clash with a Highlanders team coming off a 1-1 league Valley Regional (Deep River, CT). The Highlanders record now stands at 3-10.
