Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Washburn Castle Guards (Washburn, WI) and the visiting Drummond Lumberjacks (Drummond, WI), observed Washburn's volleyball team hold off Drummond by a count of 3-2.

The Castle Guards (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Hurley (Hurley, WI). The Northstars enter the Indianhead - East contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Hurley got by South Shore (Port Wing, WI), 3-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Lumberjacks battle the Luck Cardinals (Luck, WI) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 14. Drummond will attempt to move on its 8-9 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 8-19 record after their 3-0 league loss to Unity (Balsam Lake, WI).
