In Friday's league match, the host Alpena Wildcats football squad scored a decisive 41-0 triumph over the Sault Area Blue Devils.
The Wildcats (1-6) will now prepare for their battle against Escanaba (Escanaba, MI). The Eskymos go into the Big North battle with a 6-1 record. In their last battle, Escanaba was ripped by Gaylord (Gaylord, MI), 34-30, in a league battle.
The Blue Devils now have a 0-7 record. They play next when they host Petoskey for a Big North battle on Friday, October 17. Sault Area will meet a Northmen squad coming off a 27-17 league loss to Marquette (Marquette, MI). The Northmen record now stands at 3-4.
