Texas High School Football - Columbia nips Royal

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Columbia Roughnecks (West Columbia, TX) and the host Royal Falcons (Brookshire, TX), witnessed Columbia's football squad edge Royal by a tally of 28-21.

The Roughnecks (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Sweeny (Sweeny, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 4A-2 Region III District 10 contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Sweeny was nudged by Royal (Brookshire, TX), 19-13, in a league contest.

The Falcons now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to La Marque for a 4A-2 Region III District 10 bout on Friday, October 17. Royal will encounter a Cougars team coming off a 73-0 league win over Harmony School of Innovation (Katy, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 6-1.
