The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Coquille Red Devils (Coquille, OR) and the host South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR), witnessed Coquille's football squad edge South Umpqua by a tally of 18-13.
The Red Devils (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Douglas (Winston, OR). The Trojans go into the 3A Special District 4 bout with a 2-4 record. In their last bout, Douglas was tipped by Siuslaw (Florence, OR), 46-42, in a league bout.
The Lancers now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Brookings-Harbor for a 3A Special District 4 bout on Friday, October 17. South Umpqua will encounter a Bruins team coming off a 28-21 league loss to Sutherlin (Sutherlin, OR). The Bruins record now stands at 2-4.
