The Dallas Mountaineers edged the visiting Crestwood Comets football team by a score of 7-0 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Mountaineers face the Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA) in a Wyoming Valley 1 game, on Friday, October 17. Dallas will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 1-7 record after their 49-13 league loss to Pittston (Pittston, PA).

The Comets (4-4) will now prepare for their game against Wilkes-Barre (Wilkes-Barre, PA). The Wolfpack enter the Wyoming Valley 1 game with a 5-3 record. In their last game, Wilkes-Barre held off Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA), 49-0, in a league game.
