The Golden Sierra Grizzlies were victorious over the host Esparto Spartans football team by a score of 51-21 in Friday's league challenge.
In their next game, the Grizzlies face the Mesa Verde Mavericks (Citrus Heights, CA) in a Sierra Delta League challenge, on Friday, October 17. Golden Sierra will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Mavericks enter the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 65-32 league loss to Rio Vista (Rio Vista, CA).
The Spartans (0-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lindhurst (Olivehurst, CA). The Blazers come into the Sierra Delta League outing with a 4-3 record. In their last outing, Lindhurst topped Highlands (North Highlands, CA), 43-34, in a league outing.
