In Friday's league match, the visiting Yoakum Bulldogs football squad scored a decisive 48-13 triumph over the Hempstead Bobcats.

The Bulldogs (6-1) will now prepare for their match against Columbus (Columbus, TX). The Cardinals come into the 3A-1 Region III District 12 match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Columbus routed Rogers (Rogers, TX), 40-7, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Bobcats confront the Hitchcock Bulldogs (Hitchcock, TX) in a 3A-1 Region III District 12 match, on Friday, October 17. Hempstead will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 5-2 record after their 34-7 league win over Hallettsville (Hallettsville, TX).
