Illinois High School Football - Reed-Custer can't hold off Herscher

October 10, 2025: Herscher, IL 60941

Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), 19-13 in a league battle.

With the win, Herscher advances its record to 5-2 on the season. The Tigers travel to Coal City (Coal City, IL) to play the Coalers in a Illinois Central Eight battle on Friday, October 17. The Coalers go into the battle with a record of 6-1. Coal City won 49-7 in their recent league battle against Peotone (Peotone, IL)

The Comets now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they host Wilmington for a Illinois Central Eight battle on Friday, October 17. Reed-Custer will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 45-0 league win over Streator (Streator, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-1.
