    • Rhode Island High School Football - Ponaganset trounces Hope

    October 10, 2025: North Scituate, RI 02857

    In Friday's non-league battle, the host Ponaganset Chieftains football team scored a big 47-0 win over the Hope Blue Wave.

    With the win, Ponaganset advances its record to 5-0 on the season. The Chieftains travel to Rogers (Newport, RI) to play the Vikings in a Division III battle on Friday, October 17. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 1-5. Rogers lost 41-7 in their recent non-league match against Moses Brown (Providence, RI)

    Coming up next, the Blue Wave confront the Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout (West Greenwich, RI) in a Division IV match, on Saturday, October 18. Hope will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The come into the match with a 1-5 record after their 16-13 league win over Tiverton (Tiverton, RI).
