Mississippi High School Football - New Hope tops Lafayette

October 10, 2025: Columbus, MS 39702

The New Hope Trojans football squad scored 42 points and limited the visiting Lafayette Commodores to 27 in the Trojans league triumph on Friday.

The Trojans now have a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Columbus for a 5A Region 1 test on Thursday, October 16. New Hope will meet a Falcons squad coming off a 34-14 league loss to Caledonia (Caledonia, MS). The Falcons record now stands at 1-5.

With the defeat, Lafayette drops to 4-3 on the campaign. The Commodores travel to West Point (West Point, MS) to meet the Green Wave in a 5A Region 1 test on Friday, October 17. The Green Wave come into the test with a record of 6-0. West Point won 50-13 in their recent league test against Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS)
