In Friday's league match, the host Las Plumas Thunderbirds football squad scored a good 42-29 triumph over the Live Oak Lions.

The Thunderbirds (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Orland (Orland, CA). The Trojans come into the Westside League match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Orland was beaten by Gridley (Gridley, CA), 29-26, in a league match.

Next up, the Lions play the Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA) in a Westside League test, on Friday, October 17. Live Oak will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 4-2 record after their 35-0 league win over Oroville (Oroville, CA).
