In Friday's league match, the visiting Shepherd Pirates football squad scored a big 48-0 win over the Tarkington Longhorns.

With the win, Shepherd improves its record to 6-0 on the season. The Pirates host West Orange-Stark (Orange, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 4A-2 Region III District 9 battle on Friday, October 17. The Mustangs go into the battle with a record of 3-3. West Orange-Stark won 33-0 in their recent league battle against Jasper (Jasper, TX)

The Longhorns now have a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Silsbee for a 4A-2 Region III District 9 battle on Friday, October 17. Tarkington will play a Tigers team coming off a 41-20 league win over Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.
