The West Monona Spartans football squad scored 40 points and limited the visiting Southwest Valley to 0 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now hold a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host IKM/Manning for a A District 8 test on Friday, October 17. West Monona will meet a Wolves squad coming off a 43-0 league win over Westwood (Sloan, IA). The Wolves record now stands at 5-2.

With the defeat, Southwest Valley drops to 3-4 on the campaign. The travel to Mount Ayr (Mount Ayr, IA) to meet the Raiders in a A District 7 test on Friday, October 17. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 4-3. Mount Ayr won 47-6 in their recent league test against Nodaway Valley (Greenfield, IA)
