North Carolina High School Football - Washington County holds off Wayne Christian

October 10, 2025: Goldsboro, NC 27530

The Washington County Panthers (Plymouth, NC) football tipped the host Wayne Christian Eagles (Goldsboro, NC), 26-21 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Panthers now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Wilson Prep for a Eastern Carolina 1A outing on Friday, October 17. Washington County will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 36-16 non-league win over Mount Zion Christian Academy (Durham, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Wayne Christian falls to 3-5 on the year. The Eagles travel to Ravenscroft (Raleigh, NC) to battle the Ravens in a non-league game on Friday, October 17. The Ravens enter the game with a record of 2-5. Ravenscroft lost 49-7 in their recent league game against Trinity Christian (Fayetteville, NC)
