Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the host West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), saw Sun Valley's soccer squad triumph over West Charlotte by a count of 5-0.

The Spartans (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Warriors come into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A match with a 6-5 record.

The Lions now sport a 3-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Mecklenburg for a non-league match on Tuesday, October 14. West Charlotte will meet a Eagles team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Butler (Matthews, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 8-7.
